CLA Security Fencing Systems is a leading manufacturer of bespoke gates, railings, balconies, and architectural metalwork. Due to continued growth, we are looking for a skilled and enthusiastic AutoCAD Draughtsman/Draughtswoman to join our Drawing Office in Wednesbury.
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual with a passion for design and technical drawing to become part of a well-established and growing business. You will play a key role in transforming customer requirements into detailed manufacturing drawings, supporting projects from initial concept through to production.
The Role
Working closely with our sales, production, and management teams, you will be responsible for producing accurate and detailed CAD drawings for manufacture. You will also assist in developing practical design solutions and ensuring projects are delivered efficiently and to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce detailed manufacturing drawings using AutoCAD
- Create cutting lists and production documentation for fabrication projects
- Develop technical drawings, schematics, and design layouts in line with customer requirements
- Liaise with customers where necessary to clarify specifications and design details
- Support the development of practical and innovative design solutions
- Review drawings for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project requirements
- Maintain organised project files and drawing records
- Collaborate with colleagues across sales, design, and production departments
About You
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A minimum of 2 years' AutoCAD experience
- Strong technical drawing and CAD drafting skills
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- A positive, proactive, and professional attitude
- The ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
Desirable Experience
- Experience within the gates, railings, balconies, steel fabrication, or architectural metalwork industries
- Knowledge of fabrication and manufacturing processes
- Experience creating cutting lists and production drawings
- Familiarity with 3D modelling software would be advantageous but is not essential
