Children & Young People's (CYP) Counsellor – Secondary School (Stockport)
Salary: £18.03 per hour
Contract: 6 paid hours per week (5 counselling hours plus 1 hour for administration)
Annual Salary: £4,705.83 (term-time only)
Hours: Wednesdays between 9.00am and 3.00pm (with some flexibility, to be discussed at interview)
Contract: Fixed-term for one year, with the potential for extension subject to continued funding.
Start Date: September 2026 (or as soon as possible thereafter)
Closing Date: Sunday 12th July 2026

The Counselling & Family Centre (CFC) is looking for an experienced and passionate Children and Young People's (CYP) Counsellor to join our established Schools Counselling Team, providing therapeutic support within a secondary school in Stockport.
This role involves delivering 5 hours of counselling each week, with an additional paid hour allocated for clinical administration, record keeping and associated duties.

About You
You will have:
- A recognised counselling qualification (minimum Level 4 Diploma or equivalent)
- Experience working therapeutically with children and young people, or additional specialist CYP training
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Good IT skills for maintaining confidential clinical records
- Membership of a recognised professional body (e.g. BACP or UKCP) is desirable
- An Enhanced DBS Certificate (or willingness to obtain one)
