Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Project Finance Lawyer to join our client, an international renewable energy company. The successful candidate will specialise in providing expert legal advice on complex financial transactions, project financing, and contractual arrangements related to large-scale projects. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on high-profile projects, ensuring legal compliance and mitigating risks throughout the project lifecycle. The ideal applicant will possess excellent communication skills and a strong understanding of IT systems utilised within legal practice, enabling effective management of documentation and case files.
Responsibilities
- Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of legal documents including loan agreements, security documents, and contractual arrangements related to project finance.
- Providing strategic legal advice to clients and internal teams on project structuring, risk management, and compliance issues.
- Conducting due diligence investigations to ensure the legality and financial viability of projects.
- Collaborating with financial institutions, government bodies, and other stakeholders to facilitate smooth transaction processes.
- Managing legal aspects of project funding arrangements, including debt financing and equity investments.
- Keeping abreast of relevant legislation, regulations, and industry best practices affecting project finance transactions.
- Utilising IT systems for document management, case tracking, and communication with clients and partners efficiently.
Requirements
- Qualified solicitor or lawyer with relevant legal practising certificate recognised in the jurisdiction.
- Proven experience specialising in project finance law or related fields such as banking or corporate law.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate complex legal concepts to diverse audiences.
- Proficiency in IT tools used within legal environments for document drafting, management, and communication purposes.
- Excellent organisational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team under tight deadlines.
- Demonstrated understanding of financial markets, contractual law, and regulatory frameworks relevant to large-scale projects.
This role provides an engaging environment for a dedicated legal professional eager to work In House on large scale international projects. Working closely with the General Counsel based in Australia on renewable energy projects across Europe. This opportunity is for someone looking for either 3, 4 or 5 days a week, there may be occasionally international travel. Pay: £120,000.00-£150,000.00 per year
