Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic General Kitchen Assistant to support our team in delivering high-quality meals. This role offers an opportunity to gain valuable experience in a busy kitchen environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with meal preparation, food safety, and maintaining cleanliness standards to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
Position will be open from Monday September 28th 2026 for 10 months.
Responsibilities
- Assist with food preparation and meal assembly in accordance with established recipes and standard.
- Ensure all food safety and hygiene regulations are adhered to at all times
- Help with cleaning kitchen equipment, utensils, and work surfaces to maintain a hygienic environment
- Assist with stock organisation, including receiving deliveries and storing ingredients appropriately
- Support the cook during busy periods by performing various kitchen duties as needed
- Follow health and safety protocols diligently to prevent accidents or contamination
Qualifications
- Previous experience in catering, cooking is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for suitable candidates
- Basic knowledge of food preparation and safety standards is advantageous
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Good organisational skills and the ability to follow instructions accurately
- Friendly demeanour with excellent communication skills
- Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to different tasks within the kitchen setting.
