Job Summary
We are seeking a professional HGV Class 1 Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely driving a curtainsider vehicle to deliver goods across various locations. This role offers an excellent opportunity for experienced drivers with a passion for commercial driving and delivering exceptional service. The ideal applicant will possess a valid HGV class 1 licence, with experience in general haulage driving preferred. Airport/ Airfreight experience is a bonus but not essential. Must have good knowledge of drivers hours/ working time directive rules.
Duties
- Plan and execute delivery routes efficiently, ensuring timely collection and drop-offs.
- Secure loads properly on vehicles to prevent movement during transit.
- Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any faults or issues promptly.
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and communicate effectively with dispatch teams.
- Adhere to all health and safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment at all times.
- Assist with loading and unloading goods where necessary, ensuring proper handling of items.
- May be required to do the odd night out, but mostly you will be home every night Monday- Friday
- You may also be asked to do the occasional saturday/ sunday shift (once in a blue moon)
Experience
- Demonstrable knowledge of driving regulations and safety standards within the UK.
- 1 year driving artic vehicles minimum experience required
