Overview
Are you a hands-on technician who takes pride in delivering high-quality work that makes a real difference? We’re looking for a skilled and reliable Ceiling Track Hoist Technician to join our client’s growing team.
In this role, you’ll play a vital part in supporting individuals and healthcare providers by installing and maintaining essential mobility equipment—helping improve comfort, safety, and independence for end users.
The Role
As a field-based technician, you will be responsible for the installation, servicing, repair, and removal of ceiling track hoists and associated equipment across Buckinghamshire. You’ll work closely with healthcare professionals, clients, and contractors, ensuring every job is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities
- Install ceiling track hoists and stairlifts, including pre-delivery inspections and customer handovers
- Conduct site surveys alongside healthcare professionals and produce basic layout drawings where required
- Remove, collect, and process equipment in line with scanning and quarantine procedures
- Carry out planned servicing, maintenance, and repairs; replace equipment where necessary
- Respond to emergency call-outs as part of an out-of-hours rota
- Maintain accurate records using scanners and complete all job documentation promptly
- Manage van stock levels and ensure parts are allocated correctly to jobs
- Keep company vehicle clean, roadworthy, and compliant with reporting procedures
- Handle tools and equipment responsibly, reporting any issues or losses
- Adhere to company policies, safety standards, and quality procedures
- Support stock checks and general operational tasks as needed
What We’re Looking For
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Strong practical/technical skills (DIY, mechanical, or electrical)
- Ability to work independently and manage your own workload
- Good communication skills and a professional manner with customers
- Attention to detail and a safety-first mindset
- Full, valid UK driving licence
Desirable:
- Experience in carpentry, electronics, or engineering
- Background in healthcare equipment or similar field service roles
- Confidence reading maps/site layouts and working in varied environments
- Familiarity with quality standards such as ISO9002
