We are looking for a catering assistant to join our team, in a state of the art kitchen/staff canteen, based within a busy food factory in Sherburn-in-Elmet. We are looking for reliable, hardworking, and personable individuals.
Rate of Pay: £13 per hour
Shifts: Monday, Friday & Saturday, 8 hour shifts (7am-3pm, or 9am-5pm). Shifts will be delegated via rota. Other days may be available, please ask.
Also some Sunday work between October & December (approx. 2 Sunday shifts per person)
Part Time - 24 hours per week.
Immediate start available.
Flexibility required to cover sickness and holidays – paid overtime.
Duties:
Assist with general cooking/food prep.
500 employees approx. on site
Serving food and drinks for breakfast, lunch and afternoon dinner services.
Till work (cashless).
Pot washing.
Stock rotation.
All other kitchen associated tasks.
Skills/Requirements:
Previous background in canteen/kitchen work.
Good knowledge of food safety standards and regulations, in particular HACCP and allergen awareness.
Good level of HACCP understanding, allergens and food safety.
Level 2/3 food safety.
Minimum 2 years’ experience in professional canteen/kitchen setting.
Holidays:
17 days holiday per year, including bank holidays.
The kitchen is open on bank holidays and over the Christmas period – time off is granted on a first come, first served basis.
