Piping Rock UK Ltd, is a Global manufacturer and supplier of health products, combining decades of expertise, quality ingredients and product innovation to provide world leading nutritional supplements for all.
We are seeking an experienced and commercially driven Senior Buyer to lead sourcing and procurement activities for UK & EU markets. This role goes beyond traditional buying - it plays a key part in product development, supplier innovation, and cross-functional leadership, ensuring we bring competitive, high-quality products to market efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
· Lead end-to-end procurement for assigned categories, including supplier sourcing, negotiation, and contract management
· Partner closely with Product Development, Marketing, and Technical teams to bring new products from concept to launch
· Identify market trends, customer needs, and innovation opportunities within the health and wellness sector
· Drive supplier collaboration to support new product development (NPD), reformulations, and cost improvements
· Manage and mentor NPD teams or cross-functional project teams where applicable
· Own pricing strategies, margin optimisation, and cost-saving initiatives
· Ensure compliance with UK/EU regulations, quality standards, and internal policies
· Monitor supplier performance and mitigate supply chain risks
· Work closely with Supply Chain, Planning, and Operations teams to ensure continuity of supply, effective inventory management, and successful product launches
Key Skills & Experience:
· Proven experience as a Buyer or Senior Buyer, ideally within FMCG, supplements, or health products
· Strong background in supplier negotiation and strategic sourcing
· Demonstrated experience working with or leading product development / NPD projects
· Ability to influence and lead cross-functional teams without direct authority
· Commercially astute with strong analytical and decision-making skills
· Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
· Experience managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
· Knowledge of UK/EU regulatory requirements in supplements or consumer goods (desirable)
Leadership & Product Development Capabilities:
· Experience guiding products from concept through formulation, sourcing, and launch
· Ability to align technical, commercial, and customer perspectives
· Strong project management skills with a hands-on, delivery-focused mindset
· Comfortable acting as a bridge between suppliers, internal teams, and innovation strategy
