Year 1 Teaching Assistant – SEN Support
Start Date: September 2026
Now Education are proud to be working in partnership with a friendly and inclusive primary school in Liverpool, Walton (L4), who are seeking a committed Year 1 Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2026.
This is an excellent opportunity for a caring and enthusiastic individual to support pupils during an important stage of their educational journey while working within a welcoming and supportive school community.
The Role:
- Providing classroom support within a Year 1 class
- Delivering targeted 1:1 and small group interventions for pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
- Supporting children with a range of additional needs, including ASD, ADHD, and speech and language difficulties
- Assisting with phonics, reading, writing, and numeracy activities
- Encouraging positive social interactions and supporting pupils' emotional wellbeing
- Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement personalised support plans
- Helping to create a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment
What We're Looking For:
- Previous experience working within a UK primary school setting
- Experience supporting children with SEND would be advantageous
- A patient, nurturing, and adaptable approach to supporting learning
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
- A genuine passion for helping children achieve their full potential
