Full/ part time Class C LGV Driver

Warwickshire County Council provides nine valued and well used recycling facilities across Warwickshire, and we are committed to reducing waste and its impact upon the environment. We are looking for Class C Hook Lift drivers to join us and help us with this mission.
We are flexible and looking for full time LGV Cat C licenced drivers. Being a seven day a week service, we need a driver who can work one weekend a month, both Saturday and Sunday.
Overtime may be available – hours worked above 37 hours and Sundays are paid at time and a half. Bank holidays are paid at double time.
The Role
As a Hook Lift Driver you will keep our household waste recycling centres and transfer stations running efficiently and safely on behalf of Warwickshire County Council. You will do this by transporting roll on roll off skips to maintain capacity in this important and popular public service. If you do not have experience of using a hook lift we will fully train you. Our drivers work on their own initiative to ensure that the waste management service is running as efficiently as possible and that materials are taken for appropriate recycling and disposal.

Recycling Centres are open every day of the week because people like to recycle and dispose of their materials at weekends and bank holidays. We invite people who can work one full weekend a month to apply. The job also involves driving on landfill.
Key Requirements
To be successful you will be a team player with a positive outlook and able to use your own initiative. You will have good communication skills and be able to relay information accurately and in a timely manner. You will have great driving skills and be able to remain calm in challenging situations. You will have at least basic reading and writing and be numerate to complete load and transfer documentation (basic training will be given where appropriate). As a primary frontline service for the Authority, you will keep a smart appearance and maintain a professional manner.
