Yard Shunter - Amazon CWL1
We are recruiting for a Yard Shunter to join a busy Amazon fulfilment centre (CWL1). This is a full-time, ongoing role offering consistent hours and regular overtime opportunities.
Shift & Hours
- 4 on / 4 off shift pattern
- 07:30 - 18:00 (10.5 hour standard shift)
- Overtime available - shifts may extend to 12 hours during busy periods, with additional full shifts often available
- Enhanced overtime rates - up to £19.46 per hour / £233.57 per shift
What You'll Be Doing
- Operate a yard tractor (shunting tug) to move trailers on-site
- Position trailers safely onto loading bays
- Carry out daily vehicle and trailer checks
- Work closely with the transport and warehouse teams
- Follow all health & safety procedures
- Report any defects or safety concerns
Requirements
- Valid UK driving licence
- Previous shunting / trailer movement experience preferred
- Good understanding of health & safety
- Reliable, punctual, and safety-focused
- Must be able to pass a basic DBS check (required for site access)
HGV Licence (Preferred but Not Essential)
- Class 1 (C+E) licence preferred
- Role is primarily yard-based using a shunting tug
- Occasional use of an HGV unit may be required
