Floor Layer Job Description

Sheet Vinyl (cap and cove)
Responsibilities:
- Measure and cut flooring materials to fit the designated area
- Prepare the subfloor by cleaning, leveling, and repairing any imperfections
- Apply adhesive or other bonding agents to secure the flooring materials in place
- Use tools and equipment, such as power saws, tape measures, and trowels, to complete installation tasks
- Ensure that the flooring is properly aligned and meets quality standards
- Clean up work area and remove any debris after completing the installation
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a floor layer or similar role
- Strong knowledge of different flooring materials and installation techniques
- Ability to read and interpret floor plans and specifications
- Excellent attention to detail and precision in measuring and cutting materials
- Physical stamina to stand, bend, kneel, and lift heavy objects for extended periods of time
- Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
- Strong problem-solving skills to address any issues that may arise during installation
