£26,000-28,000 per annum plus travel expenses to required locations
Hours
37.5 hours per week – full time position
This role requires flexibility. Working hours will be planned around the activity programme and community engagement opportunities. Most activities are expected to take place during evenings, although some daytime activities and meetings will also be required.

Purpose of the Role
Dragon Care is seeking an enthusiastic and ambitious Community Activities and Events Coordinator to develop, coordinate and oversee a growing programme of social activities and events for young people and adults with disabilities across Greater Manchester.
This is a hands-on role that combines event planning, community engagement, service development and operational leadership. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating opportunities that promote social inclusion, friendship, independence and wellbeing while growing Dragon Care's presence within local communities.
As the service expands, the post holder will play a key role in developing new activity locations and supporting the recruitment and management of activity staff within each area.

Key ResponsibilitiesActivity Planning and Coordination
· Design and coordinate a weekly programme of activities across multiple locations.
· Organise evening, weekend and daytime activities for young people and adults with disabilities.
· Develop engaging and meaningful activities based on the interests and aspirations of participants.
· Use our on site locations as a main hub and source and book suitable venues and resources
· Coordinate activity schedules across all service locations.
· Ensure activities are inclusive, accessible and person centred.
Event Delivery and Operational Oversight
· Attend and oversee activities to ensure they operate safely and effectively.
· Provide leadership and support during activities and events.
· Ensure all risk assessments, staffing arrangements and safeguarding measures are in place.
· Monitor attendance, participation and outcomes.
· Support activity staff and volunteers during delivery.
Community Engagement and Service Growth
· Build strong relationships with local schools, colleges, disability organisations, support providers and community groups.
· Promote Dragon Care services within local communities.
· Attend networking and community events.
· Develop referral pathways and partnerships.
· Increase awareness and participation across all activity locations.
· Identify opportunities for service expansion into additional geographical areas.
Team Development
· Support the recruitment, induction and supervision of activity staff as services grow.
· Help establish local teams to support activity delivery within each location.
· Promote a positive and inclusive culture across the service.
Safeguarding and Compliance
· Ensure all activities operate in line with Dragon Care policies and procedures.
· Complete and maintain risk assessments and event planning documentation.
· Promote the safety and wellbeing of all participants.
· Report incidents, accidents and safeguarding concerns appropriately.
Administration and Reporting
· Maintain attendance records and activity schedules.
· Manage activity budgets and expenditure.
· Produce reports on participation, outcomes and service development.
· Gather feedback from participants and families to support continuous improvement.
Person SpecificationEssential
· Experience coordinating events, activities or community programmes.
· Excellent organisational and planning skills.
· Experience working with young people or adults with disabilities.
· Strong communication and relationship building skills.
· Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.
· Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
· Understanding of safeguarding responsibilities.
Desirable
· Experience within health and social care.
· Experience managing staff or volunteers.
· Experience developing community partnerships.
· Knowledge of disability services across Greater Manchester.
· Experience supporting service growth and development.
