Overview
We are seeking a professional HGV Class 1 Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely operating flatbed lorries to deliver goods across various locations. This role offers an excellent opportunity for experienced drivers with a focus on commercial driving and delivery. Duties
- Safely operate HGV Class 1 flatbed lorries to transport goods to designated destinations
- Ensure all deliveries are completed in accordance with schedules and company standards
- Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections to maintain safety and compliance
- Secure cargo properly using appropriate equipment to prevent damage during transit
- Complete all necessary documentation accurately, including delivery notes and logs
- Adhere strictly to road safety regulations and company policies at all times
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and clients regarding delivery schedules or issues
- Maintain a professional appearance and conduct during all interactions with clients and colleagues
Qualifications
- Valid HGV Class 1 licence with a clean driving record
- Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly with flatbed vehicles
- Delivery driver experience is highly desirable
- Knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices for secure cargo handling
- Ability to operate flatbeds and utilise appropriate securing equipment effectively
- Good organisational skills and the ability to work independently under pressure
- Strong communication skills and a professional attitude towards customers and team members
