Bakery Cleaner (Commercial Kitchen)

The Heritage Bakery is looking for a reliable and hardworking Bakery Cleaner to help maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and food hygiene within our busy artisan bakery.
This is an important role that helps ensure our bakery remains a safe, clean and efficient environment for our bakers to produce high-quality products every day.
Working Hours
- Monday: 9:30pm – 11:30pm
- Tuesday: 9:00pm – 12:00am
- Wednesday: 9:30pm – 11:30pm
- Thursday: 9:00pm – 12:00am
- Saturday: 10:00am – 2:00pm (Deep Clean)
Total: 14 hours per week
Please note: Due to the late evening finishes, including midnight on Tuesdays and Thursdays, applicants must have reliable transport to and from the bakery.
About the Role
As our Bakery Cleaner, you will be responsible for maintaining exceptional standards of cleanliness throughout the bakery, ensuring all cleaning tasks are completed in line with food safety, hygiene and health and safety requirements.
Full training will be provided on the safe cleaning of specialist bakery equipment and machinery.
Key Responsibilities
- Clean bakery production areas to a high standard.
- Clean and sanitise worktops, preparation surfaces and general equipment.
- Sweep, mop and maintain bakery floors.
- Clean bakery machinery following training and cleaning procedures.
- Wash and sanitise bakery trays and utensils.
- Clean staff toilets and welfare facilities.
- Empty bins and manage waste and recycling appropriately.
- Ensure all waste and recyclable materials are disposed of correctly.
- Replenish cleaning materials where required.
- Follow all food safety, hygiene and health and safety procedures.
- Report any maintenance or hygiene concerns to management.

- Physically capable of carrying out cleaning duties.
- Trustworthy and takes pride in maintaining exceptionally high standards.
- Comfortable working in a busy bakery production environment.
- Flexible for additional hours as needed during busy periods.
Desirable Experience
Whilst not essential, we'd particularly like to hear from candidates with experience cleaning:
- Commercial kitchens.
- Food production or manufacturing facilities.
- Bakeries or catering environments.
Knowledge of food hygiene and cleaning standards within a food manufacturing environment would be an advantage.
