Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Stores Person to join our warehouse team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing stock, handling materials, and supporting efficient warehouse operations. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with warehouse experience and mechanical knowledge to contribute to a well-organised and safety-conscious environment. The Stores Person will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth flow of goods and materials within the facility, supporting shipping, receiving, and inventory management activities.
Responsibilities
- Managing stock levels and ensuring accurate inventory records.
- Operating forklift trucks safely to load, unload, and move materials around the facility.
- Handling materials with care, including heavy lifting and manual handling tasks.
- Picking and packing orders accurately for dispatch in accordance with company procedures.
- Assisting with shipping and receiving processes, including documentation and verification of incoming and outgoing goods.
- Organising stock storage areas to optimise space utilisation and accessibility.
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations during all warehouse activities.
- Assisting in construction-related tasks as required for warehouse organisation or improvements.
Qualifications
- Experience in a warehouse or similar roles within a logistics or construction environment preferred but not essential
- Valid forklift licence with demonstrated experience operating forklift trucks safely. Preferred but not essential
- Strong understanding of materials handling, stock management, and inventory control procedures.
- Mechanical knowledge or experience working with construction materials is advantageous.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently on a regular basis.
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in picking, packing, shipping, and receiving tasks.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as an individual and as part of a team.
Pay: From £12.71 per hour
