Rotherwood Healthcare is an award winning care home group, providing luxury residential, nursing and dementia care for the older generation in a family of care homes and nursing homes across the Midlands.
St George’s Park is a specialist Dementia Nursing Home located in a peaceful residential area of Telford. We provide expert nursing care for residents with complex care needs in a calm and caring environment, supportive of all dementia care needs and is home to 70 Residents.

The Role:
You will be required to assist the Head Chef/Chef in the preparation of a balanced, nutritious diet within a controlled hygienic environment and play a vital part in the effective operation of the kitchen function for the home. The Kitchen Assistant will also need to control stock, rotate foods, and monitor use by dates and ensure that the kitchen is kept in a clean and hygienic state at the end of every shift.
Key Responsibilities:
· Preparing and serving food in a timely manner, as directed by the Head Chef and Chef.
· Follow food handling and hygiene procedures, maintain a clean and organised work area.
· Support with each mealtime experience - breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks according to residents’ preferences and dietary requirements.
· Keep clean all work surfaces in the kitchen to avoid cross contamination.
· To abide by all health & safety and environmental requirements as per the relevant legislation/regulations.
· Be aware of and adhere to COSHH guidelines.

About You:
You will have previous experience within a fast paced busy, kitchen environment, with the ability to prioritise and complete your allocated tasks during your set shift. You will have a passion for food and a desire to progress with a career in catering. Previous care home experience would be an advantage but not essential as we will provide you with the knowledge and understanding if you have the people qualities and share our core values.
Pay: £12.81 per hour
