The Company
This is an exciting opportunity to join a long-standing and thriving food manufacturing business. Bennett Opie Ltd is a family-owned business in Sittingbourne, Kent, manufacturing a range of shelf-stable food products including pickles, home baking goods and cocktail garnishes for retail and food service customers. Due to business successes and growth, the company is looking for a Machine Setter to join our friendly team.
The Role
Responsibilities include:
Complete daily set up of production machinery for different products as per the weekly production schedule
- Perform and document daily checks/tasks of production equipment
- Support the line operators to achieve set line speeds and balancing the process for efficiencies
- Complete tasks on the machine setter job sheet in order of priority
- Attend scheduled meetings with the production team to discuss monthly manufacturing downtime, OEE performance, KPI and contribute to continuous improvement of the department / business
- Work to standards set to ensure quality and food safety of products are maintained
- Ensure health and safety is adhered to at all times
- Support and Train staff on procedures as and when necessary
- Ensure that the machinery have been shut down correctly at the end of the production day
- Operate production lines and data inputting if and when require
Full training and support is provided on all aspects of the role.
The Person
The successful person will be able to work independently, as well as being part of a team, and be able to communicate with other departments. They should also have an eye for detail and be able to work to time deadlines.
Previous experience in a factory environment would be ideal. Experience within the food industry and working with allergens would be an advantage, but is not essential.
Pay, Hours & Benefits
Up to £13.54 per hour and this is paid monthly with a salary review following successful probationary period.
Monday to Thursday 6:30am to 3:30pm with a 20 minute paid break and a 45 minute unpaid break, and Friday 6am to 12 noon with no entitlement to any breaks equating to 39 hours per week and;
Monday to Thursday 9:00am to 6:00pm with a 20 minute paid break and a 45 minute unpaid break, and Friday 6am to 12 noon with no entitlement to any breaks equating to 39 hours per week
