Junior Land Surveyor

This is a technical trainee role within Land Surveying.
It is not a general role and is not suitable for applicants with no relevant background or interest in surveying.
To be considered, you must meet at least ONE of the following:
- Hold (or be working towards) a qualification in Surveying, Geomatics, or a closely related discipline
- Have previous experience in land surveying, setting out, or construction engineering
- Be able to clearly demonstrate a genuine and informed interest in pursuing a long-term career in Land Surveying
In addition, the following criteria are mandatory:
- Must be able to reliably commute daily to the Lambeth office and surrounding project sites (approximately 1 hour maximum commute)
- Must have the permanent right to work in the UK – sponsorship is not available

The Role
Peak Construction Recruitment Ltd is working with an established surveying contractor seeking a Junior Land Surveyor to join their growing team.
This opportunity is ideal for someone at the early stages of their surveying career who is serious about developing within the industry and gaining hands-on site experience under the guidance of experienced surveyors.
You will be working on live construction projects across London.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting with land and engineering surveys on active construction sites
- Operating total stations, GPS equipment and data collectors (with supervision where required)
- Collecting and recording topographical and setting out data
- Processing survey data and assisting with drawing production
- Supporting preparation of reports and survey documentation
- Maintaining and checking survey equipment
- Adhering to all site health & safety procedures
What We’re Looking For
- Strong numerical and problem-solving ability
- Good attention to detail
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying conditions
- Professional and reliable approach to site work
- Basic understanding of surveying principles (academic or practical)
- Any exposure to CAD software is beneficial
