Are you a hands-on Site Manager who thrives on running multiple sites and being the face of the company in front of residents? We're looking for an operational leader to take ownership of installation delivery on the ground across our retrofit projects across Hertfordshire.
The projects are being carried out under the Warm Homes Local Grant and Warm Homes: Social Housing Fund schemes. They typically include a variety of measures, including:
- Solid wall insulation
- Loft and cavity wall insulation
- Solar and batteries
- Heat pumps
About the Role
You'll be the lead operational figure on the ground across our active sites, reporting to an office-based Project Manager who handles scheduling, subcontractor coordination and admin so you can focus on delivery and quality.
Day-to-day, you will:
- Conduct the resident walkthrough before any work starts and collect the signed scope of works
- Verify ventilation and rescue plans on site
- Monitor material on site and check subcontractor credentials before they start
- Run pre-start checks and installer site inductions
- Engage residents throughout the works — keeping them informed and confident
- Capture and verify digital photographic evidence at the start, middle and end of every job
- Carry out SMSTS weekly safety checks and maintain the logs
- Handle snagging, site sign-off and final resident liaison
- Take ownership of incident handling on site
Essential Requirements
- SMSTS qualified
- Site management experience in retrofit, insulation, or wider construction
- Level 5 NVQ in Retrofit Coordination and Risk Management
- Comfortable managing multiple concurrent sites
- Strong resident-facing communication — calm, clear, and diplomatic
- Methodical with digital photo evidence and documentation
- A problem-solver, not simply a problem-reporter
- Full UK driving licence
What Would Set You Apart
- PAS2030/2035 working knowledge
- Experience under Warm Homes, ECO, or similar funded schemes
- Background managing subcontractor performance on quality and timing
What We Offer
- Genuine ownership of operational delivery on the ground
- Strong office support — you won't be drowning in admin and logistics
- A growing pipeline of social housing and private sector retrofit work
- Company vehicle or car allowance (negotiable)
- Professional development opportunities
