Salary: Up to £55,000 per year + £5,000 Welcome Bonus

We are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for an experienced and compassionate Children’s Home Manager to lead a well-established 4-bed children’s home in Shrewsbury.
The service was recently inspected by Ofsted and achieved a “Good” rating, providing a strong foundation for the successful candidate to continue developing the home and supporting positive outcomes for children and young people.
The Role:
As the Children’s Home Manager, your responsibilities will include:
- Holding responsibility for the day-to-day management and leadership of the home
- Delivering high-quality, therapeutic, and child-centred care
- Ensuring positive outcomes and progress for children and young people
- Leading, mentoring, and developing the staff team through supervision, appraisals, and training
- Managing staffing, compliance, safeguarding, care planning, and operational performance
- Supporting the strategic development and continuous improvement of the service
- Managing budgets and financial performance of the home
- Acting as a positive role model for both staff and young people
- Building strong relationships with professionals, stakeholders, and external agencies
- Ensuring the home operates in line with Children’s Homes Regulations 2015 and safeguarding frameworks
About You:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience within children’s residential care at a senior level
- Level 3 or 4 qualification in Children & Young People’s Workforce
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare, or working towards
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding procedures, The Children Act 1989, and Ofsted regulations
- Experience managing budgets and operational performance
- A child-centred and therapeutic approach to care
- Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
- Flexibility to participate in on-call duties
- Full UK driving licence
