Salary: £32,916 – £49,232 (M1 – UPS2)

About the Role A brand new specialist school opening in Autumn 2026 is seeking an experienced Primary SEN Lead Teacher to help shape an exceptional new provision for children and young people aged 5–19 with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

What You’ll Be Doing
As the Primary SEN Lead Teacher, you will:
- Deliver high quality, specialist teaching for pupils with SEND, including Autism and associated needs.
- Work within a small primary hub supporting pupils across two classes.
- Create a structured, nurturing and inclusive learning environment that promotes communication, engagement and emotional wellbeing.
- Lead and collaborate with a team of Teaching Assistants to support academic progress, communication development, social skills and emotional regulation.
- Personalise learning programmes based on individual EHCP outcomes and developmental needs.
- Work closely with multidisciplinary professionals to ensure consistent, high?quality provision.
- Contribute to a calm, predictable and supportive environment where pupils can make meaningful progress and develop independence.
Essential Qualifications
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
Essential Experience
- Experience working in a special school setting.
- Experience supporting pupils with SEND, ideally Autism.
- Experience managing or leading a small team of Teaching Assistants.
- Strong knowledge of the Primary National Curriculum.
- Confident in planning, assessment and classroom management.
- Able to remain calm, positive and solution?focused in a challenging environment.
Desirable
- Postgraduate diploma in Autism or SEN specialism.
- SEN qualification.
