Overview
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Coffee Shop Supervisor to oversee daily operations within our vibrant coffee establishment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a passion for hospitality, and a background in food and beverage service. This role offers an exciting opportunity to manage a dynamic team, ensure exceptional customer experiences, and uphold high standards of food safety and quality. The successful applicant will be responsible for supervising staff, maintaining efficient workflows, and ensuring the smooth running of the shop during shifts.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily coffee shop activities, ensuring excellent customer service and operational efficiency
- Oversee food preparation and cooking processes, maintaining high standards of quality and presentation
- Lead and motivate team members, providing guidance on food safety, hygiene, and service procedures
- Manage staff schedules, delegate tasks, and monitor performance to foster a positive working environment
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations across all areas of the shop, including food production and kitchen practices
- Assist with food production, including barista duties, serving customers, and preparing beverages and light meals
- Maintain stock levels by monitoring inventory, placing orders when necessary, and organising storage areas effectively
- Handle customer enquiries or complaints professionally to ensure satisfaction
- Uphold cleanliness standards throughout the premises, including kitchen areas, dining spaces, and service counters
Qualifications
- Proven supervising experience within a hospitality or café environment
- Strong team management skills with the ability to lead by example
- Background in food preparation, cooking, or culinary arts; barista experience is highly desirable
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food production
- Experience in restaurant or hotel settings is advantageous
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently under pressure
- Good communication skills to liaise effectively with staff and customers
- A passion for hospitality with a friendly demeanour and leadership qualities
