Do you want to work somewhere that cares?
Are you an experienced care worker? Do you want to find a place to work where you can support elderly residents to live their best lives in a supportive place? Do you want to be part of a committed team who can adapt to changing care needs?
Westdale is a small friendly care home in the heart of West Bridgford, Nottingham. We have been proudly providing care for the elderly for the last 60 years.
Our service is unique, and we offer an alternative journey from the traditional move between living at home to a full residential care facility and sitting in a day room. We offer an open-door policy for residents and focus on supporting activities, personal care and supporting good health with strong collaboration with the local GP.
While we offer a simple service to our residents, care roles can be challenging and demanding when attending to individual personal choices and evolving care needs – up to and including end-of-life care. Work can change from busy and quiet and this means needing to adapt. All care staff can expect to be involved in personal care, attending to daily needs, medication and care planning and require initiative and a genuine commitment to our residents. Our senior staff take on further duties and everyone can offer ideas and input with the CQC Registered Care Manager, the Director and the Management Committee – we have opportunities for staff representatives to join board level meetings.
We have strong values from the Quaker ethos SPICE (Simplicity, Peace, Integrity, Community, Equality). We welcome people from all walks of life and all faiths or none! We are a Not-For-Profit organisation so everything we do is about the service, the home and our staff team.
We look for good character as well as experience and the people we are searching for will be friendly, caring, adaptable, flexible and have good communication skills – above all you will need honesty and integrity.
We offer a range of benefits and support to our staff team, including a competitive rate of pay, enhanced weekend and overtime rates, holiday accrual for overtime, generous fully paid breaks, discounted food and free meals such as breakfast. We support and fund training, tailor development opportunities, offer a challenge and advancement. And we provide mental health support, financial advice services and various other areas of professional support through our ‘Health Assured’ partnership.
