KLS Law is seeking an experienced Clinical Negligence Solicitor to join our busy and growing Civil Litigation Department in Warrington.
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and capable Solicitor to manage their own caseload of claimant clinical negligence matters while also supporting the Director and wider team on complex and high-value cases. The successful candidate will play a key role in progressing claims efficiently, achieving strong outcomes for clients, and delivering an exceptional standard of client care.
You will work within a dynamic litigation team handling a broad range of clinical negligence matters, with exposure to complex and multi-track claims.
Our office is based in Warrington, Cheshire, with excellent transport links to Liverpool and Manchester. The role is full-time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
About You
- Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales with a minimum of 3 years’ PQE
- Solid experience managing a caseload of claimant clinical negligence matters
- Strong technical knowledge of clinical negligence litigation and procedure
- Experience handling litigated matters from inception through to resolution
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage deadlines and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Confident liaising with clients, experts, counsel, defendants and other professionals
- Commercial awareness and a pragmatic approach to case strategy
- Proactive, professional and solutions-focused
- Genuine interest in claimant clinical negligence work
- Advocacy experience desirable, but not essential
Key Responsibilities
- Manage your own caseload of claimant clinical negligence claims from inception to conclusion
- Advise clients on merits, liability, causation and quantum
- Draft legal documents including correspondence, witness statements, schedules, pleadings and court documents
- Instruct counsel and expert witnesses
- Conduct liability and quantum investigations
- Liaise with clients, experts, counsel, defendants and insurers
- Negotiate settlements and attend mediations/settlement meetings where required
- Support the Director and senior colleagues on complex and high-value matters
- Prepare cases for trial and attend hearings where appropriate
- Undertake advocacy where suitably experienced
- Ensure files are managed in line with firm procedures, compliance obligations and regulatory requirements
- Maintain accurate records on the case management system
- Assist with billing, costs recovery and file closure processes
Working Hours
Your working hours are 37.5 per week, based on 7.5 hours per day, Monday to Friday. From time to time, a degree of flexibility may be required to work beyond these hours to meet urgent business needs.
