The Role
We are seeking a passionate and motivated Third in Charge to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced early years practitioner ready to take the next step into a leadership role, while still working closely with children on a daily basis.
As Third in Charge, you will support the Nursery Manager and Deputy Manager in the day-to-day running of the setting, ensuring the highest standards of care, education, and safeguarding are maintained.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the management team in the smooth day-to-day operation of the nursery
- Lead by example, delivering outstanding care and education
- Build strong, positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues
- Ensure a safe, stimulating, and inclusive environment for all children
- Support staff development and act as a role model within the team
- Assist with planning and implementing engaging activities in line with the EYFS
- Step into a leadership role in the absence of the Manager and Deputy
What We’re Looking For
- A full and relevant Level 3 (or above) Early Years qualification
- At least 2 years’ experience within an Early Years setting
- Excellent knowledge of the EYFS and Ofsted Early Education Inspection Framework
- A passionate, inspiring individual who enjoys working with children and brings fun into learning
- Ability to lead and support a team to deliver exceptional care and education
- Excellent listening, communication, and customer service skills
- A proactive, positive approach to leadership and teamwork
