- Contract: 26 hour position available - Alternate Weekends
- Salary: £13.45 per hour
What You'll Be DoingAs our Activities Coordinator
You'll plan and deliver a varied programme of engaging activities tailored to residents' interests, abilities and preferences.
Activities may include:
- Organising special events, seasonal celebrations and themed activity days
- Planning and hosting birthday parties and family events
- Delivering group activities such as quizzes, arts and crafts, games and exercise sessions
- Providing meaningful one-to-one sessions for residents who prefer individual support
- Supporting residents to maintain hobbies and interests
- Encouraging community involvement and intergenerational activities
- Promoting resident choice, dignity and independence at all times
Resident Engagement & Quality Improvement
You'll play an important role in ensuring residents have a voice within the home by:
- Organising and participating in resident and family meetings
- Encouraging feedback and engagement
- Supporting our "You Said, We Did" approach to demonstrate positive change based on resident and family feedback
- Helping maintain evidence of meaningful activities and resident outcomes
- Contributing to a positive culture that reflects Hourigan House expectations around person-centred care, wellbeing, inclusion and responsiveness
What We're Looking For
- A caring and compassionate nature
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Creativity and enthusiasm for delivering engaging activities
- Confidence working independently and as part of a team
- Experience in activities, care, hospitality, customer service or community engagement is desirable but not essential
- A genuine passion for improving the lives of older people
