Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Health Care Assistants/Support Workers to provide exceptional care and support to our clients in various settings, including care homes, assisted living facilities, and home care environments. The ideal candidate will be committed to promoting dignity, independence, and well-being among service users. Experience in nursing homes, dementia care, or hospice care is highly desirable, along with relevant certifications such as first aid.
Duties
- Assist clients with daily activities such as personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility support
- Administer medication safely following care plans and protocols
- Support clients with meal preparation and feeding as required
- Monitor and record health status, behaviour, and progress of service users
- Implement specialised care for individuals with Alzheimer's or dementia, including behaviour management strategies
- Support with medical procedures under supervision, including basic nursing tasks and case management
- Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with healthcare regulations and organisational policies
- Drive clients to appointments or activities when necessary, ensuring safe transportation
- Provide emotional support and companionship to enhance clients’ quality of life
- Follow health and safety guidelines diligently to ensure a safe environment for all
Skills
- Proven experience in a care environment such as nursing homes, care homes or home care services
- Knowledge of medical terminology and medication administration procedures
- Strong understanding of dementia, Alzheimer’s care, hospice care, and behaviour management techniques
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build rapport with clients and team members
- Ability to handle heavy lifting safely and assist with mobility needs effectively
- Compassionate attitude with a genuine desire to support vulnerable individuals
- Basic first aid certification is essential; additional qualifications in nursing or caregiving are advantageous
- Valid driving licence is preferred for roles involving client transportation
- Organised approach to managing care plans and case management responsibilities

Pay: £14.56-£22.40 per hour
