Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Assistant (Nights) to provide high-quality support to residents in a care home setting. This role involves delivering personalised care during overnight shifts, ensuring residents' safety, comfort, and well-being. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, be reliable, and committed to maintaining a respectful and caring environment for all individuals.
Duties
- Assist residents with personal care tasks such as washing, dressing, and mobility during night hours
- Monitor residents’ health and wellbeing throughout the shift, reporting any concerns to senior staff
- Support residents in accordance with individual care plans, respecting their dignity and preferences
- Maintain accurate documentation of care provided and any incidents or observations
- Ensure the safety and security of residents by conducting regular checks and responding promptly to their needs
- Support with meal preparation and assistance if required during night shifts
- Communicate effectively with residents, colleagues, and healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care delivery
- Follow all health and safety protocols, including infection control procedures
Experience
- Previous experience working in a care home or home care environment is desirable but not essential; training will be provided
- Knowledge of care plans and the ability to implement them effectively
- Basic IT skills for record keeping and documentation purposes
- Good command of English language, both written and verbal, to communicate clearly with residents and team members
- Driving licence is advantageous but not mandatory; flexibility in transportation arrangements may be required depending on the role's location
- Strong communication skills with an empathetic approach towards residents’ needs
