Lead Veterinary Surgeon - Kidderminster
Lead with confidence. Shape a growing team. Enjoy real clinical scope in a purpose-built practice.
Looking for More Than Just "The Next Step"?
If you're an experienced Veterinary Surgeon who wants more influence, more support, and more purpose in your working week, this could be the kind of move that genuinely changes how you feel about practice life.
This is a role for someone ready to lead, but who still wants to feel part of a kind, grounded team. Someone who cares deeply about standards, culture, and doing right by both patients and people.
The Opportunity
We're working with a purpose-built small animal practice in Kidderminster, that has been designed to make high-quality clinical work feel easier, calmer, and more sustainable. This is not a tired site asking someone to hold things together. It's a modern, well-equipped environment with real ambition, looking for a Lead Veterinary Surgeon who wants to help shape what comes next.
You'll work closely with an established leadership team, including a Practice Manager and Clinical Nurse Manager, while supporting a wider group of vets and nurses who value collaboration and compassionate care. The focus here is not just on keeping the rota moving. It's on building strong clinical standards, mentoring others, and creating a workplace where people can do their best work without losing themselves in the process.
If you enjoy leading with empathy, improving how things are done, and helping a team grow with confidence, this role gives you the space to do exactly that.
Why This Role Is Different
A practice built for modern veterinary care
This purpose-built site spans 4,000 sq ft and includes multiple consulting rooms, two operating theatres, an in-house laboratory, and dedicated dental, X-ray and ultrasound suites. The setup has been designed to support excellent medicine and smoother day-to-day workflows.
A calmer experience for pets, clients, and team alike
The practice includes a spacious reception area, a quiet space for nervous dogs, and separate cat and dog wards. It is the kind of environment that helps reduce stress for everyone, including the people delivering the care.
Leadership that goes beyond case management
This is a genuine lead role. You'll help drive clinical governance, support protocol compliance, work alongside the Practice Manager on rota planning and team wellbeing, and mentor colleagues in a way that strengthens both confidence and culture.
A future-focused setting
Sustainability has been considered from the ground up, with recyclable flooring, ceiling tiles and acoustic panelling, alongside LED lighting and air source heat pumps. It reflects a practice that is thinking carefully about its future, not just reacting to the present.
Well connected, with room to breathe
Based in Kidderminster, the practice offers easy access to local amenities, direct train links to Birmingham, and nearby green space including Brinton Park and Spennells Valley Nature Reserve. That balance matters when you're building a life, not just taking a job.
Your Journey Here
In your first month
You'll get to know the team, understand the clinical flow of the practice, and build confidence in the systems, standards, and leadership rhythm already in place.
By month three
You'll be contributing fully as a clinical leader, supporting governance, helping guide the team, and working closely with management on rota planning, wellbeing, and consistency in patient care.
By month six
You'll be an established voice within the practice, shaping culture, mentoring others, and helping drive the next stage of growth with clarity and compassion.
