Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and efficient Kitchen Porter to join our team. The successful candidate will play a role in maintaining the cleanliness and organisation of our kitchen environment, supporting the team to deliver excellent service.
Responsibilities
- Washing, cleaning, and sanitising dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment to ensure hygiene standards are met.
- Assisting with basic food preparation tasks under supervision, including peeling, chopping, and organising ingredients.
- Supporting the kitchen team in maintaining cleanliness of work surfaces, floors, and storage areas throughout shifts.
- Ensuring all waste is disposed of correctly and recycling procedures are followed.
- Restocking supplies and ensuring all items are stored appropriately to maintain an organised workspace.
- Assisting with the setup and breakdown of service areas before and after meal periods.
- Adhering to health and safety regulations at all times to ensure a safe working environment.
Experience
- Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality setting is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided.
- Familiarity with food preparation, cooking processes, or culinary environments is desirable.
- Experience working in busy kitchens or supporting culinary teams will be beneficial.
- Knowledge of hygiene standards within food service environments is preferred but can be developed on the job.
- A positive attitude towards teamwork and willingness to learn new skills are essential qualities for success in this role.
