We are a busy independent builders merchant supplying trade and retail customers across the region. We’re looking for a reliable, hard-working Yard Assistant to join our team.
This is a hands-on role in a fast-moving yard environment. The successful applicant will be physically fit, dependable and comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Loading and unloading customer and supplier vehicles
- Picking and preparing orders accurately
- Handling aggregates, paving, timber and heavy building materials
- Serving trade and retail customers in the yard
- Keeping the yard clean, organised and safe
- Assisting with stock control and deliveries
The Ideal Candidate:
- Has previous experience in a builders merchant or similar yard environment (preferred but not essential)
- Is physically fit and able to lift heavy materials safely
- Has a good attitude and strong work ethic
- Is punctual and reliable
- Forklift licence (advantageous but not essential)

Hours: Monday–Friday 7:30am–5:00pm + alternate Saturdays 7.30am-12pm
