Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Joiner/Carpenter to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in carpentry and joinery, with experience in various aspects of building and fabrication. This role involves working on diverse projects, including residential, commercial, and specialised construction tasks. The successful applicant will be responsible for delivering high-quality craftsmanship, ensuring safety standards are maintained, and contributing to the timely completion of projects.
Responsibilities
- Fabricate, assemble, and install wooden structures and fixtures using hand tools and power tools
- Read and interpret technical drawings, plans, and specifications to execute precise carpentry work
- Perform joinery tasks such as fitting doors, windows, staircases, and bespoke furniture
- Assist with roofing installations, repairs, and maintenance as required
- Conduct heavy lifting of materials and equipment safely to facilitate construction activities
- Carry out construction painting, plastering, plumbing, masonry, or electrical tasks when necessary to support multi-disciplinary projects
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment to promote safety and efficiency on site
- Collaborate with team members to ensure project deadlines are met while adhering to health and safety regulations
Requirements
- Proven experience in carpentry, joinery, or related construction trades
- Proficiency with hand tools such as saws, chisels, hammers, and measuring devices
- Experience operating power tools including drills, sanders, saws, and nail guns
- Knowledge of fabrication techniques and assembly processes for various materials
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently on-site
- Basic understanding of roofing, plumbing, masonry, electrical work or construction painting is advantageous but not essential
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in executing complex tasks
- Relevant qualifications or certifications in carpentry or construction trades are preferred but not mandatory
