At City Catering Southampton, we are passionate about providing great quality, nutritious meals to children across Southampton and beyond. As a charity, we believe every child deserves the best lunchtime experience possible — and we’re looking for enthusiastic, adaptable, and friendly people to join our Mobile Catering Team.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work across a variety of school kitchens, supporting teams during busy periods and staff absences while helping us maintain our high standards of food quality and service.
Location: Various school locations across Southampton
Hours: 12.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Working Weeks: 39 weeks per year (term-time only)
Pay: £12.71 per hour
What You’ll Be Doing
No two days are the same! You’ll be involved in:
· Helping to prepare and serve tasty, nutritious meals
· Supporting different kitchen teams across Southampton schools
· Providing cover during staff absences and busy periods
· Creating a welcoming dining experience for children
· Keeping kitchen and dining areas clean, safe, and organised
· Supporting food safety, allergen, and hygiene procedures
· Assisting with stock movement, deliveries, and general kitchen duties
· Working as part of a supportive and energetic team
· Helping to reduce food waste and promote healthy eating

Previous catering experience is helpful, but not essential — full training will be provided. A driving licence is essential for this role.

Important Information
This role is subject to eligibility to work in the UK and an Enhanced DBS check due to working within school environments. The cost of the DBS check will be covered by the Charity.
