Civils operatives required to work on civil & utility contracts throughout Cumbria. Working on a range of infrastructure projects predominately on electrical distribution sites. Experience preferred but training will be provided for the right candidate.
The role involves working as part of a gang carrying out all aspects of groundworks including excavation, ducting, base installations, reinstatement, cable pulling and general site preparation. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys outdoor work and takes pride in delivering high-quality projects safely and efficiently.
Experience within civil engineering, utilities or infrastructure sectors is advantageous but not essential for the right candidate.
Responsibilities:
- Carry out excavation and groundwork activities safely and efficiently
- Install ducting, draw pits, equipment bases and associated infrastructure
- Assist with reinstatement and finishing works
- Operate plant and tools where competent and authorised
- Support site set up and maintain a clean working area
- Work alongside supervisors and machine operators to deliver programme targets
- Follow site RAMS, health & safety procedures and company standards
Essential Requirements:
- Good attitude and willingness to work
- Experience working outdoors or on construction sites
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Ability to work as part of a team and under own initiative.
Desirable:
- Previous experience in civils, utilities, or construction.
- NRSWA Street Works Qualification.
- CSCS Card.
- Good understanding of safe digging practices and utility avoidance.
- First Aid
- Experience in EV infrastructure, utilities or groundworks
