Job Title: People Administrator
Salary: Up to £28,000 per annum
Contract: Fixed term 1 year- starting July 2026
Location: Letchworth Head Office, moving to Hitchin in Summer 2026
We are seeking a People Administrator to provide efficient and effective administrative support to the People function across the organization. You will be the first point of contact for people-related queries and will play a key role in ensuring our people processes run smoothly. This is a varied and hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys being organised, working with people and contributing to a positive workplace and wishes to learn and develop in their HR career.
Responsibilities:
- Providing day to day administrative support across the full employee lifecycle, including onboarding, contract changes and offboarding
- Maintain and update the HR information system (HRIS), ensuring employee records are accurate and up to date
- Prepare and issue employment documentation including offer letters, contracts and variation letters
- Assist with payroll preparation by collating absence data, starters, leavers, and contractual changes
- Respond to general people queries from managers and team members in a timely and professional manner
- Support employee relations casework with accurate note-taking and administrative follow-up including letters
- Support annual people function projects
- Produce regular and ad-hoc people reports and data as required
- Travel to our offices in Derby and Burton Upon Trent to attend meetings, support teams and build relationships
- Contribute to the wider People Team projects and continuous improvement initiatives
Requirements:
- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
- Confident communicator, both written and verbal, with a professional and approachable manner
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and comfortable using HR systems
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion
- A proactive, can-do attitude with the ability to manage competing priorities
- Full UK driving license and access to your own vehicle – travel to homes in Derby and Burton Upon Trent is a core requirement of the role
- Must have full right to work in the UK
- Previous experience in a people administration role (desired)
- Experience working in the care sector, residential childcare or a regulated environment (desirable)
