The Role
We are currently hiring for a qualified English tutor to support two secondary students.
Pay: £20 per hour
Location: BR6- sessions take place in the students' home
Commitment: 1 hour 30minutes per week
Schedule: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday from 4:30PM onwards (1 hour with student one and 30 minutes with student two)
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys engaging with young people and would like to make a meaningful impact through personalised, one-to-one teaching.
Essential Requirements
Please read carefully — applicants must meet the following essential criteria:
- MUST have some professional experience working with children/young people e.g. teachers, teaching assistants, childcare practitioners or nannies etc. (REQUIRED)
- MUST be available weekly for a 1 hour 30 minutes tutoring session (REQUIRED)
- Must be a qualified teacher: QTS, PGCE or an equivalent teaching certificate (REQUIRED)
- Must have achieved a B at GCSE or A level in the subject you're interested in tutoring if you are applying to work with GCSE/A-level students
- MUST be able to prove that you have the right to work in the UK on a self-employed basis (REQUIRED)
- MUST be able to access a printer as and when necessary- resources are provided however, tutors are expected to print from time to time (REQUIRED)
Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 tutoring sessions, focusing on their individual learning needs and goals.
- Build relationships and rapport with students
- Make sessions fun and interactive
- Monitor and assess student progress, adapting teaching methods as necessary.
- Encourage and motivate students to build confidence in their academic abilities
