ZERO HOURS CAFE JOB - AS AND WHEN CONTRACT
BLOCK is an independent café located in the stunning Royal William Yard, Plymouth; a vibrant hub with a gym, workspaces, and a lively local community. We are passionate about great coffee, fresh food, and creating a welcoming space for our guests to relax, work, and connect.
We are looking for some additional support from an enthusiastic person, who wishes to join our café team on a flexible basis and pick up extra shifts, as and when required. You’ll be the face of the café, serving customers with a smile, preparing coffee and hot drinks, and ensuring food and drink is delivered efficiently. You’ll also keep the café clean, organised and welcoming.
Key Responsibilities:
· Greet customers warmly and take orders accurately.
· Prepare coffee and hot beverages to high standards.
· Serve food and drink efficiently.
· Operate the POS system and handle cash/card payments.
· Maintain cleanliness and health and safety standards.
· Work effectively as part of a friendly team.
Required Skills & Experience:
· Experience working in a café, coffee shop, or similar hospitality environment.
· Positive, approachable, and professional attitude.
· Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
· Flexible, reliable and punctual.
· Strong communication and organisational skills.
· A passion for great coffee, good food, and excellent customer service.
· Food hygiene and first aid qualifications are an advantage (training can be provided).
Shifts: - Available weekdays/weekends throughout the year. Shifts will vary but likely to be 10am-2pm, 9am-2pm or 1pm-5.30pm.
