Are you organised, proactive and looking to develop your career within Housing Property Services?
Guildford Borough Council manages and maintains approximately 5,200 council homes across the borough. We are looking for a Planned Works Support Officer to join our Housing Property Services team and support the delivery of projects that improve and maintain homes for our residents.
Working closely with the Assistant Surveyor and wider surveying team, you will provide project and administrative support across a range of planned maintenance, capital investment and property-related programmes. You will help coordinate information, support project delivery and work with a variety of internal teams, contractors and residents.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop experience within housing, property services, project coordination or the wider built environment sector.
What we're looking for
We are seeking a motivated and organised individual with excellent communication and administrative skills who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and managing a varied workload.
You will be a strong team player with good attention to detail, a positive approach to problem solving and a commitment to delivering excellent customer service.
Experience within housing, property, construction, maintenance or project support environments would be advantageous.
What we offer
In return, we offer:
- A competitive salary with incremental progression.
- Generous annual leave entitlement.
- Membership of the Local Government Pension Scheme.
- Flexible working arrangements where appropriate.
- Training and development opportunities.
- A supportive and collaborative working environment.

If you are looking for an opportunity to contribute to projects that make a real difference to homes and communities across Guildford, we would love to hear from you.
'From April 2027, Guildford Borough Council and Waverley Borough Council will become part of the new West Surrey unitary council, as part of a major local government reorganisation across Surrey. This change will see the current twelve councils replaced by two new authorities: East Surrey and West Surrey. West Surrey will cover the areas currently served by Guildford, Waverley, Runnymede, Spelthorne, Surrey Heath and Woking.
As we move toward this transition, we remain focused on delivering high‑quality, value‑for‑money services and staying true to our shared values: Collaboration, Wellbeing, Trusted, Value for Money and Professionalism.
Joining us at this point in our journey offers a unique opportunity. You will gain valuable experience, benefit from extensive training and development, and play an active role in one of the most significant local government transformations in the past 50 years. You’ll be part of a collaborative, supportive organisation where your ideas and contributions will directly help shape the future of public services across West Surrey.
Together, we will ensure a smooth transition and continue to provide excellent services for residents now and into the future.
If you’re looking for a role where you can grow, make an impact and be part of meaningful change, we’d love to hear from you.'
