Deep North is an independent artisan doughnut and speciality coffee business with our central kitchen and HQ being based in Ouseburn. We’re looking for a reliable, experiences and hands-on Pastry Chef / Baker (or a Doughnut Chef!) to join our production team.
Key Responsibilities
- Rolling, shaping, and preparing fresh dough
- Proving dough correctly to spec
- Frying doughnuts to a consistent, high-quality standard
- Following recipes and production guidelines
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised workspace
- Completing prep so products are ready for the day shift team
- Adhering to food safety and hygiene standards at all times
Working Hours
- Our shifts are early morning starts and some night shifts. Ability to work night shifts either occasionally or on a regular basis is preferable.
- Shifts and exact hours to be discussed at interview - but our busier days are generally Saturdays and Sundays so weekend availability is a must.
About You
- Reliable and punctual, with good time management
- Comfortable working independently and in a team
- Experience in food production, baking, or kitchens preferred
- A strong attention to detail and consistency
- High standards with regards to quality, cleanliness and ways of working
- Able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Food hygiene knowledge is beneficial (training can be provided)

Pay: £12.71-£13.50 per hour
