Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Nursery Cleaner, who takes pride in their work, to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment within our nursery premises. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring all areas are hygienic and well-maintained, supporting the overall wellbeing of children and staff, by ensuring all areas of the nursery meet high cleanliness standards.
Duties
- Perform routine cleaning of nursery rooms, play areas, toilets, and communal spaces using appropriate cleaning products and equipment
- Sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting throughout the premises
- Ensure all surfaces, toys, and equipment are sanitised regularly to meet health and safety standards
- Dispose of waste responsibly and maintain organised storage of cleaning supplies
- Restock consumables such as tissues, hand sanitiser, and cleaning materials as needed
- Helping ensure compliance with safeguarding and hygiene regulations
- Follow health and safety protocols diligently to prevent accidents or contamination
- Report any maintenance issues or hazards to management promptly
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout the working shift to support a hygienic environment for children and staff
- Assisting with laundry (bedding, towels, etc.)
Experience
- Previous experience in a commercial cleaning role is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate
- Friendly and respectful around children
- Knowledge of cleaning procedures specific to childcare environments is advantageous
- Ability to work independently with attention to detail and organisational skills
- A responsible attitude towards health and safety regulations in a childcare setting
- Understanding of COSHH or safe chemical use
The successful applicant will need to pay for an enhanced DBS check, or be on the Update service.
