Providing Care Ltd supports looked-after young people aged 16–18 within Ofsted-regulated supported accommodation. This young person-centred role focuses on building confidence, stability and independence. We are looking for compassionate, reliable Support Workers who want to make a real difference by forming positive relationships and helping young people move towards adulthood.
About the Role
As a UASC Support Worker, you will provide practical and emotional support within the young person’s accommodation, helping them feel safe, understood and supported while promoting independence and resilience.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting young people to attend solicitor, immigration and right-to-remain appointments
- Explaining processes in a calm, clear and reassuring way
- Supporting access to education, ESOL, training and employment opportunities
- Accompanying young people to health and professional appointments
- Supporting development of independence skills such as budgeting, cooking and tenancy management
- Delivering tailored key work sessions focused on wellbeing, integration and future planning
- Maintaining accurate and timely records in line with regulatory requirements
- Building trusting, culturally aware and professional relationships
This role involves a rota-based shift pattern including evenings, weekends and sleep-ins where required.
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for individuals who are empathetic, resilient and able to provide consistent support to young people who may have experienced trauma, displacement or uncertainty.
- Strong communication skills and emotional awareness
- Calm and reassuring approach
- Ability to work professionally with external agencies (solicitors, social workers, education providers)
- Cultural sensitivity and understanding
- Full UK driving licence preferred
- Experience in supported accommodation, residential care, outreach or youth work desirable
