Overview
This role involves providing practical and emotional support to service users, assisting with daily routines, activities, and general wellbeing in line with care plans and organisational standards.
This is a flexible agency role, offering varied shifts across different services. The position is suitable for experienced care workers and eligible students who meet the required criteria. Training can be provided for suitable candidates where required.
Support will be provided across Birmingham and surrounding areas, including South and North Birmingham (B74,B12,B14), depending on service needs and shift availability.
Duties
- Support service users with their daily routines and activities
- Assist with personal care where required, in line with care plans
- Support with domestic duties, including cleaning, laundry, and meal preparation
- Encourage independence, social engagement, and participation in activities
- Follow individual care plans, risk assessments, and support guidelines
- Use appropriate approaches when supporting behaviour that may challenge
- Maintain accurate records and report any concerns appropriately
- Work professionally alongside permanent staff and management
- Promote dignity, respect, and safeguarding at all times
Experience
- Minimum 6 months care experience in the UK (essential)
- Experience supporting individuals with daily routines and activities
- Experience assisting with domestic duties such as cleaning, laundry, and meal preparation
- Experience working within care plans, risk assessments, and safeguarding procedures
- Ability to work professionally within different care environments
- Valid CPI or MAPA training required (or willingness to complete training if eligible)
Note: Students are welcome to apply, provided they meet the 6 months UK care experience requirement.
