We are currently seeking a Support Worker who is passionate about helping others and enjoys working with people, this position is for waking nights. The Support Worker will be responsible for providing companionship, personal care and light housework, as well as assisting with transportation if required during their shift. A successful candidate will understand the importance of meeting the needs, goals, concerns of our clients, and the ability to work independently while still being a part of a team. We are a complex care provider and so have to meet some complex and challenging needs for our service users.
The role will be working from 7pm until 8am on a 2-2-3 pattern (Week 1: Mon, Tues, Fri, Sat, Sun. Week 2: Wed, Thu), giving the employee plenty of hours whilst also getting seven days off per fortnight.
Responsibilities:
- Supporting people in the community to reach their full potential in their own home.
- Building a rapport with the people being supported, developing trust and a firm understanding of their individual needs.
- Supporting people to access social events and to attend any required appointments.
- Supporting/Assisting people to prepare and cook meals as well as promote healthy options.
- Possibly supporting people with some aspects of their personal care.
- Possibly supporting people with all aspects of their medication.
- Providing emotional support.
- Working as part of a team and with the Registered Manager and Deputy Manager in order to meet the individual needs of the person being supported.
- To complete all mandatory training and work within the specified policies, procedures and guidelines.
Experience preferred but not essential as training will be given, we're looking for people with the right mindset for behaviours that can challenge.
