We are currently seeking committed and experienced Support Workers to support adults with a range of learning and physical needs throughout the Tyne & Wear area.
This is a temporary role leading to permanent opportunities for the right candidates. There are full time hours (37 hours per week working 9am-9pm) and part time hours (24 hours working 9am-3pm, or 3pm-9pm) available.
The Role
You will be supporting vulnerable adults and helping them achieve positive outcomes by:
- Providing personalised, emotional and physical support
- Building strong, trusting relationships
- Engaging in meaningful and enjoyable activities
- Managing challenging behaviours using calm, therapeutic approaches
- Encouraging independence, confidence, and life skills
- Administering medication
- Supporting with personal care needs
- Working collaboratively with other professionals to deliver high-quality support
- Following care plans and contributing to their ongoing development
- Liaising with family members
- Maintaining accurate records and complying with CQC regulations
What We’re Looking For
- 6–12 months of paid UK experience in a similar support role
- Experience supporting individuals with learning disabilities
- A compassionate, patient, and caring nature
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Flexibility to work various days depending on client’s needs
- Full UK Driving Licence (preferred)
- Enhanced DBS (Child & Adult Workforce)
- NVQ in Health & Social Care (desirable)
