Job Summary
Justteachers is seeking a Cover Supervisor who is looking for a Long term role, in a Secondary school in the Milnthorpe area on a full time basis. The role is set to commence ASAP with the school.
A friendly, medium‑sized school with a welcoming feel and a strong emphasis on consistency. Staff work closely together, and pupils respond well to clear expectations and engaging, well‑structured lessons.
Responsibilities
- Supervise classes across various subjects, maintaining a positive and productive learning environment
- Implement lesson plans provided by teachers or adapt activities as necessary to meet students’ needs
- Support students with special educational needs, including those with autism or other disabilities
- Foster inclusive participation by engaging students through creative writing, tutoring, and mentoring activities
- Manage behaviour effectively whilst promoting respect and cooperation among pupils
- Ensure the safety of all students during lessons and break times
- Collaborate with teaching staff to monitor student progress and behaviour
- Assist in organising classroom resources and materials for effective lesson delivery
Qualifications
- Experience working with children, including tutoring or mentoring roles
- Knowledge of special education practices and working with individuals with disabilities or autism is advantageous
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with pupils, staff, and parents
- Creative writing skills to support engaging lesson activities
- Ability to adapt quickly to different classroom environments and student needs
- A proactive attitude with organisational skills to manage multiple responsibilities effectively
