We are seeking a professional HGV Class 1 Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely and efficiently transporting goods across various locations, ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining high standards of safety and customer service. This role offers an excellent opportunity for experienced drivers with a passion for driving and delivering quality service. The position involves operating fridge lorries and requires a strong understanding of commercial driving regulations.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate HGV Class 1 vehicles, in accordance with all road safety laws and company policies
- Conduct pre-journey safety checks on the vehicle to ensure it is in proper working order
- Load and unload goods, ensuring proper securing of cargo to prevent damage during transit
- Plan routes effectively to meet delivery schedules while adhering to legal driving hours
- Complete all necessary documentation accurately, including delivery notes and vehicle logs
- Maintain a professional attitude when interacting with clients and colleagues during deliveries
- Follow health and safety procedures diligently to ensure a safe working environment at all times
Qualifications
- Valid HGV Class 1 licence with no more than 6 points
- Knowledge of road regulations and safety standards relevant to commercial driving in the UK
- Experience with delivery driver duties, including loading, unloading, and route planning
- Good organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively
- Strong communication skills and a professional attitude towards customers and team members
