Waterside School is an exciting new Independent Specialist SEND school for learners aged 9–19, and we are looking to appoint enthusiastic, committed and talented SEND Teachers to join our team from September 2026.

About the Roles
We are seeking both qualified SEND teachers who are passionate about supporting young people with SEND needs and bringing their experience to our specialist setting. We would be delighted to speak to you about how your experience may be used to support our learners.
Successful candidates will play a key role in delivering engaging learning experiences, building strong relationships and helping learners develop academically, socially and emotionally.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, purposeful lessons and learning activities
- Adapt learning to meet a wide range of needs and abilities
- Build strong, consistent and trusting relationships with learners
- Support behaviour and emotional regulation through trauma-informed approaches
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, families and external professionals
- Contribute to learner progress, personal development and wellbeing
- Create safe, structured and motivating classroom environments
- Support enrichment, life skills and experiential learning opportunities
About You
We are looking for individuals who:
- Are passionate about improving outcomes for learners with additional needs
- Have experience working with children or young people in education or care settings
- Build positive relationships and communicate effectively
- Are calm, resilient and solution-focused
- Have high expectations alongside warmth and empathy
- Are flexible, creative and keen to learn
- Understand inclusive and trauma-informed practice, or are willing to develop this expertise
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS or QTLS)
- ECTs welcome
- Have experience of planning, teaching and assessing learning
- Any subject specialism considered, including Primary
