Painter / Decorator
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Painter to join our team on a long-term contract basis. The ideal candidate will be responsible for applying paint, varnishes, and other finishes to various surfaces, ensuring high-quality workmanship and attention to detail.
This role offers the opportunity to work on a wide range of residential, commercial, and industrial projects within the construction and renovation sectors. Candidates should possess good communication skills, a strong work ethic, and a thorough understanding of safe working practices. A valid driving licence is preferred to facilitate travel between sites.
Experience in general handyman duties would be advantageous, as occasional assistance with minor maintenance and repair tasks may be required.
Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and filling imperfections prior to painting.
- Mix paints, stains, and other coatings to achieve desired colours and finishes.
- Apply paints, varnishes, or other finishes using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment.
- Ensure all work is completed to a high standard and within specified deadlines.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by organising tools and disposing of waste appropriately.
- Communicate effectively with clients and team members regarding project progress and requirements.
- Follow all health and safety regulations and company procedures.
- Protect surrounding surfaces through masking, covering, and other preparation methods.
- Assist with minor handyman and maintenance tasks when required.
Experience & Skills
- Previous experience in painting, decorating, construction, or related trades is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with a variety of paints, coatings, surface preparation methods, and application techniques.
- General handyman experience would be beneficial.
- Good communication skills in English.
- Valid driving licence preferred.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality finishes.
- Reliable, punctual, and professional in appearance and conduct.
