Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Gardener to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for horticulture and a strong understanding of landscape maintenance. This role involves the upkeep of gardens and grounds, ensuring that they are aesthetically pleasing and healthy. The Gardener will be responsible for various tasks related to ground maintenance while utilising both power and hand tools effectively.
Responsibilities
- Perform regular garden maintenance, including weeding, pruning, and mulching.
- Operate power tools and hand tools safely and efficiently for various gardening tasks.
- Irrigate plants as needed, ensuring optimal water distribution for healthy growth.
- Assist in landscape maintenance projects, including planting new flowers, shrubs, and trees.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of gardening tools and equipment.
- Monitor plant health and identify any pests or diseases that may affect growth.
- Collaborate with team members to design and implement garden layouts that enhance the overall landscape.
- Keep records of plant growth and maintenance activities to track progress over time.
Experience
- Previous experience in gardening or groundskeeping is essential.
- Familiarity with both power tools (such as lawnmowers, trimmers) and hand tools (such as spades, rakes) is advantageous.
- Knowledge of irrigation systems and techniques for effective watering practices is beneficial.
- A genuine interest in growing plants and maintaining landscapes will be highly regarded.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions while maintaining a positive attitude is essential.
- Must have PA1 PA6
